Windmill Line Co-op is located in the beautiful St. Lawrence Neighbourhood, just a stone’s throw from the Distillery District. The St. Lawrence is an established downtown residential neighbourhood that includes co-ops, privately owned condos and townhouses and municipal non-profit housing. We are within walking distance of two elementary schools, a community centre with a pool, three supermarkets, a library, theatres, restaurants, doctors’ offices, and of course the historic St. Lawrence Market.
This vibrant community hosts many special events including the annual BuskerFest, a Canada Day celebration, the St. Lawrence Market’s Customer Appreciation Day and a seasonal Cavalcade of Lights in December.
Just across Parliament Street is the Distillery District, home to galleries, shops and restaurants, a jazz festival, Luminato events, a Sunday farmer’s market and numerous other events.
Windmill Line Co-op has recently celebrated its twenty-fifth anniversary, and proudly still houses some of its original members. We are situated on tree-lined Scadding Avenue, just south of The Esplanade at Berkeley Street. By car, we’re two minutes from the Gardiner Expressway, and five minutes from the Don Valley Parkway. By transit, we’re a short walk from the King streetcar, and walking distance to Union Station. There are buses running along The Esplanade that go to Union, Sherbourne, Castle Frank and Pape subway stations as well.
